Frequently Asked Questions
Buying Artwork
Email me at linde.kriel@icloud.com with the title of the artwork you're interested in. I'll confirm that it's available and send you the price and payment details.
Some works are priced on request. Email me and I'll send you the price, or you're welcome to make me an offer.
Yes. If a price isn't listed, you're welcome to make an offer, and I'll consider every one personally.
Payment is made by EFT. Please use the reference "YourSurname_ArtworkTitle" (for example, Smith_HeldSpace) and email your proof of payment to linde.kriel@icloud.com. The artwork is confirmed as sold once payment has reflected.
On rare occasions, payment in instalments can be arranged on request. If approved, the artwork is paid in three instalments over three months. Instalment payments are non-refundable, and the artwork is released once the final payment has been received.
Unfortunately, works can't be reserved. Because each piece is one of a kind, holding a work for one person could mean another collector misses out, so artworks are sold to the first buyer to complete payment.
Yes. The gallery will be informed that the work has been sold, and you'll receive it once the exhibition has closed.
Paintings on stretched canvas are ready to hang. Works on paper are sold unframed unless stated, and framing can be arranged at an additional cost. If you'd like a specific frame to match your space, you're welcome to frame the work yourself, and I'll gladly give you guidance on how to frame it properly.
Yes. Every original artwork comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Yes. Each print is hand-pulled, signed, numbered and part of a limited edition. Edition sizes are listed on each artwork page.
No. You own the physical artwork, but copyright remains with the artist. This means the image can't be reproduced or sold as prints or products without my written permission.
Shipping And Collection
Yes. An additional R200 covers custom packaging and shipment with the courier or postal service of your choice.
Yes, on request. International shipping costs are quoted separately depending on the destination and size of the work.
Yes, collection in South Africa can be arranged.
Usually 3–7 working days within South Africa, depending on the courier.
Please contact me within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of both the packaging and the artwork, and we'll resolve it together. Please note that you'll need to show that the damage happened during shipping.
Because each work is original, all sales are final, except where a work arrives damaged.
Commissions
Yes. I create commissioned works in painting, printmaking, handmade paper, cyanotype and drawing.
Email me with your idea, and we'll arrange a call or meeting to discuss it. I then send you a planned reference image. Once you're happy with it, I send a commission contract, which you sign and return with a 50% deposit. You'll receive two or three progress photographs along the way, where you can suggest changes. Once the work is complete and the remaining 50% has been paid, delivery is arranged.
See the full commission process →Prices depend on size, medium and complexity. Commissions start from R1,500.
Usually between 3 and 8 weeks, depending on the size and medium. We'll agree on a timeline before you sign.
If, after the progress check-ins, you're not happy with the finished artwork, you're not required to pay the remaining 50%. In this case the artwork stays with me and the deposit is not refunded.
If I'm unable to complete a commission due to personal circumstances, your deposit will be refunded.
