Selfbound

Paper string and handmade paper, 3 parts · 180 × 175 × 2155 mm; 140 × 175 × 22 mm; 70 × 165 × 220 mm

Three bound stacks of over 11,000 handmade sheets — the self, a religious upbringing and a queer identity. The book cannot be opened. It does not offer access. It offers presence. Sasol New Signatures 2026 finalist.

Partial Witness

Paper string and handmade paper · 190 × 180 × 210 mm

A single stack bound shut with black string, each section bound three times over. Only the words partial and witness surface through the pulp.

Immersion without Conclusion

Handmade paper (kōzō, pine, abacá, banana) · 135 × 97 mm

Double-sided, printed with paper itself — a submerged body on one side, pure colour on the other.

Words that Refuse to Dry

Photography and digital collage · 1000 × 1000 mm

Words appear on damp, warped sheets, making their presence uncertain. Photographs of the sheets act as archives, preserving the moment when word and material meet — when meaning was still unsettled.

Submerge, Reflect, Dissolve, Repeat

Video stills · 1220 × 300 mm

A handmade paper bowl slowly placed into water. As the reflection of the artist's face emerges, the bowl dissolves — immersion as ongoing rather than final.
