The Bible says Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve!

This triptych consists of three digital drawings seen through lancet window shapes that critique the church's relationship with sexual identity and the queer community. The infamous apple is transformed by utilising suggestions of genitalia and in this way introduces the malleable construct of gender.

The church views Eve's consumption of the fruit as the birth of sin. Fruit, rooted in the Latin verb frui, meaning "to enjoy", is sweet and fleshy. This work proposes that the church also tastes the fruit when they selectively reject some of the children of God. Is that not also a sin?

The staging of the fruit mimics the theatricality of the church. Rather than indulging, this work attempts to divulge what happens behind those stained glass windows, asking for the inclusivity and acceptance of all community members, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
